To celebrate Carnival in Cádiz there is free mussel tasting accompanied by a series of carnival performances.

The Mussel Tasting has become one of the most important gastronomic events leading up to Carnival in Cádiz, together with other traditional events like the "Ostionada" (Oysters), the "Pestiñada" (Fritters) and the "Erizada" (Sea urchins).
