Berrocal
A small village situated on the left bank of the river Tinto, in the Minas region, in the east of the province and in which the buildings of interest are Saint John the Baptist's Church and the Chapels of Santa Cruz de Arriba and Santa Cruz de Abajo.
The places known as Los Riscos Altos and Las Gargantas in the Picote del Drago are worth a visit.
History
It was called Loelia.
It owed its importance in the past to the wealth of its mines.
During the Middle Ages the working of the mines was abandoned. Its economy passed on to agriculture and shepherding.
It reached the category of village in the XVII century.
