The Celemin Wakana Lake Reservoir Recreational Area Camp Site is located in Benalup-Casas Viejas (Cádiz), a spectacular recreational area where you can enjoy an unforgettable getaway.

It is in the heart of the Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve, just 20 minutes from Gibraltar and Sotogrande and one-and-a-half hours from Seville and Málaga. On a lake with three islands you will find Wakana, one of three magic, natural, protected areas from antiquity.

In the Wakana area there are remains of historical legends with extraordinary cave art (Tajo de las Figuras) and a group of dolmens, witness to its origins in the early Neolithic era, together with human-shaped burial structures drilled into the rock which it is said contain remains of Phoenician who traded here with Greeks and Tartessians.

Researcher Alberto Porlán suggests that the mythical Tartessian city of "Atlantis" could well have been a settlement on one of the small islands in the river in the surrounding area.
