Compuertas Parque Natural

Compuertas Parque Natural is a company for the development of tourist activities and sensations set in the natural areas of the province of Cadiz, both in the Bay or in Alcornocales or Doñana. The rarity of these areas and their connection with culture, history and the life of the local people makes them areas of great value for the development of programmes with ample interpretative, educational, leisure content, etc.

The aim of Compuertas Parque Natural fully complement these values and it has different tourism products grouped under Nature, Culture and Gastronomy. So, its wide range includes such appealing themed routes as the “Muelle pesquero” (fishing pier) in Rota, or the “Isla del asedio” (island of the siege);the tour of different active salt basins, both in San Fernando and in Sanlúcar, to discover the “harvest" or wander amongst canes and marshes;visiting small artisan workshops where items such as wickerwork are made; sailing over the world of tuna in Barbate; or getting into the habitat of seaweed, because Cadiz smells of seaweed.

In addition to this content, they are always trying to add value to the countryside. This is why, during the tours, there is a simple tasting of products from the area, which creates a very nice atmosphere in this unrivalled setting. A glass of manzanilla or moscatel, a paper cone of shrimps, or some "tortas de aceite y polvorón" (typical oil and aniseed biscuits) from Sanlúcar are the perfect complement for dawn or dusk at the salt basins.
