Biography
Miguel Vargas Jiménez was born at Calle Nueva in Utrera on February 12, 1940 and died on May 5, 1999 in the same town. As a child he worked at his father's barber shop, but he revealed his talent as an artist. Baptized as Bambino in one of the first Potajes of his town, just before Gitanillo de Triana would take him to Venta de Antequera and then to the El Duende flamenco stage in Madrid, run by his mother-in-law, Pastora Imperio.
Then he worked at Pasapoga and Cuevas until Caracol was interested in him to take him to Los Canasteros. He converts the rumba into a new genre, intimately linked to his own personality. Salvador Távora composed several songs for him, and he soon shares the stage with /base/public_redirect/base/basecontent/60108 and Faíco.
He composes songs for Quintero, León y Quiroga, Solano, Benítez Carrasco, Armando Manzanero and Manuel Alejandro. He broke moulds with bulerías. In 1996, his throat illness arises and he retires from the stage. Until his death, he was paid many homages.
