Vadomojón Reservoir is situated between the municipalities of Baena (Cordoba) and Alcaudete (Jaen). It is a very important environment for the neighbouring areas. It divides the country paths of the Subbética Greenway and Del Aceite Greenway. It belongs to the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation.

This reservoir has a capacity of 163 hm³ and 782 hectares, and is one of the most important ones in the Guadalquivir basin. Construction work for the reservoir began in 1993 and ended in 1997. On 26 November 1999, it was officially opened by the Minister of Labour back then, Manuel Pimentel, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Water and Coasts, Benigno Blanco.

Since it was built, this body of water manages flood risks, as the Guadajoz River has burst its banks in the past, and as it stores water, it can be used for irrigation. In April 2013 an old warehouse, previously given to Baena Town Council by the CHG (Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation), was converted into the headquarters of the Albendín Yacht Club with access control. Additionally, a recreational area with picnic areas and a jetty for motorboats and boats were opened. The area is expected to be suitable for swimming soon. In June 2015, the construction of a hydroelectric plant was completed. With 2,725 megawatts of power, it supplies the town of Albendín and generates energy for more than 1,200 families.
