Noria de Albendín
Albendín Waterwheel is located in Albendín Municipal Park and was built by local artisan Juan Antonio Hinojosa Rayes. It is a reproduction of the old Arab waterwheels that once abounded in the area.
This replica continues to work perfectly, and the water is used to irrigate the park gardens. The water is transported by an aqueduct that goes around the local swimming pool.
It is the symbol of the town of Albendín and in 2007 it was designated a monument of hydraulic interest by the Regional Ministry of Environment.
