Walls of Arjona

The Muslim Arjuna had a citadel with a castle, a mosque, a cistern and a palace, protected by twenty-two towers and two watchtowers.
Even today, the Walls of Arjona preserve impressive remain of this fortress at the Paseo de los Mártires, where some sections of the wall and the outer wall that protected it can be seen. The remains of this urban wall were declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1985.
