Also known as Ardales Cave, it was discovered in 1821, thanks to an earthquake that opened up an entrance, which is the door we find today.

The cave is 1.5 km long. Inside there are paintings of 56 animals from the Solutrean age (20,000 BC), an important Neolithic site (3,800 BC) and several Copper Age burial sites (2,700 BC).

It was declared a National Monument in 1931 and visits are restricted and controlled by the town council.
