The town, which is perched atop a steep cliff, is divided by an amazing ravine that leads to the river, commanding excellent panoramic views. The town was built in Moorish times, has been designated a Historic-Artistic Site, and is divided into two neighbourhoods. Its steep, winding streets are full of curious corners and monuments of interest, making for an exceptionally beautiful town. The castle, the Church of Santa María de la Asunción and the Church of San Pedro are the main landmarks.
