Biography
Antonio Ortega Jiménez was born in Mairena del Alcor in 1976 He started to sing when he was just a boy, encouraged by his father, a flamenco lover of the same name. Thanks to that he won the first saeta por martinete prize when he was twelve, in the Torres Macarena club in Seville.
However, he stopped singing for several reasons and when he was 23 he decided to come back and take part in several contests He won the Joven Campanillas Prize in Malaga in 2000 and in 2001 he reappeared as a great artist when he won the contests in El Puerto de Santa María, the Cantes Libres Prize at the Tacita de Plata Contest, the Coria del Río contest, the Ciudad de Carmona Prize, the young talents prize in Viso del Alcor and the saetas award by the Cristina Heeren Foundation.
