Real Convento de San Zoilo
This convent belongs to the order of the Franciscanos Observantes.
The church is in the late Gothic style and has an irregular floor plan, and the typical layout of a Franciscan church of the period. Remaining from the original Gothic building are some of the vaults, as well as the church doorway, built in sandstone, which is an interesting example of Gothic architecture.
On both sides of the main altarpiece hang two good copies of original works by Rubens, and other paintings include the Martyrdom of San Andrés and the Martyrs of Japan; this latter is of great interest due to its unusual subject matter.
Only the courtyard can be visited. This building is today the site of the new Municipal Library facilities.
