Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Loreto
Construction began in 1693, by order of the Jesuits, who also own the school which stands beside it. The building as a whole is popularly known by the name "Las Recoletas", after the Agustinas Recoletas, who lived here after it was abandoned by the Jesuits. Nowadays both the church and the school are run by nuns from the religious order of the Filipenses de Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores.
This church has the most impressive façade of all the Baroque works in Antequera; it is built exclusively in ashlar work, although as with the chancel inside the church, it remains unfinished.
Worth noting in a niche in the middle of a pilaster is a figure of San Francisco de Borja attributed to Pedro de Mena.
Free entrance.
Monday to Sunday and public holidays, mass at 7.30am.
