Palacio del Marqués de Villadarias

Building work was begun in around 1711. The main panel of the façade has somewhat unusual proportions for the typical architecture of the palaces in Antequera, and the most noteworthy element is the monumental doorway in three sections made of red limestone from El Torcal; this is the best example of this architectural style ever to be built in Antequera. The interior of the palace is suitably magnificent, in keeping with its grandiose doorway.
