Colegiata de San Sebastián
The current building is the result of numerous additions and alterations made over the years. Its construction began in 1548 and the building was greatly enhanced in 1692 when the town´s Insigne Colegial relocated there.
It boasts a beautiful Renaissance door and an extremely interesting tower, which has undergone various alterations but which retains the original Angelote on top, the name by which the angel standing guard atop the tower is popularly known.
The original main chapel was destroyed in an explosion and nothing of it remains. The tomb of the city´s first mayor, Rodrigo de Narváez, can be found in the Evangelio nave, alongside the door to the sacristy.
A large part of the valuable ancient treasures of La Colegiata of San Sebastián were moved to this church and are currently on display at the Municipal Museum.
