Molino Aceitero La Molina
Molino Aceitero La Molina is situated in the town of Álora, in Malaga. It is an olive-oil mill that produces, bottles and sells high-quality olive oil using the Manzanilla Aloreña variety, which is exclusive to Valle del Sol.
More than a century ago the extraction process was carried out using a press system that involved a wooden beam with stone counterweight, which pressed the baskets full of ground olives. In 1930 they started using a hydraulic press system, which is unused today. Nowadays Almazara La Molina has the most advanced machinery on the market to extract olive oil.
Molino Aceitero La Molina uses fully automated systems that enable them to extract olive oil with excellent characteristics. When you taste it you can notice the aromas and sensations exclusive to oil that comes from a valley that is unique in the world.
The guided tour of the facilities shows you the history and the extraction process of the "liquid gold" of this region, from when they receive the olives until they bottle the oil, including the extraction and storage in extra virgin olive oil cellars. You can also take part in a tasting session of oil and Manzanilla Aloreña olives, which are the mainstay of and the indigenous raw material used for the products made by Molino Aceitero La Molina.
There are three types of tours: Basic package: guided tour + oil tasting. Medium package: guided tour + oil tasting + Manzanilla Aloreña olive tasting. Full pack: guided tour + oil tasting + Aloreña olive and local orange tasting.
