Bodegas Pérez Hidalgo
Bodegas Pérez Hidalgo is a creative winery that has its own personal touch. Under the Malaga sun, in Álora, there are vineyards where the grapes to make Sierras de Málaga DO wines grow. These wines age in unique, special oak barrels, concentrating all the aromas and flavours of this land full of extraordinary sensations.
In “El Morquecho” moor, previously owned by Casser, between the Guadalhorce and Geva rivers, we find the 7-hectare vineyard. The loamy-clay soil is ideal for red grapes: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The wine-making process is carried out separately for each variety, in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-27ºC. When the grapes have fermented, the wine is transferred to the cellar to age in French and American oak barrels, for 6, 12 or 18 months, for the Roble, Crianza and Reserva types. After the wine is aged in wooden barrels it is bottled and stored until it achieves a suitable colour, aroma and flavour to be labelled and consumed.
Bodegas Pérez Hidalgo not only pursue the highest quality, but they also strive to tell visitors all about the production process. They also offer vertical and horizontal tasting sessions to study and learn more about wine making. They also organise tasting sessions for visitors interested in discovering its facilities, vineyards and the exciting world of wine.
