Bodegas Virgen del Rocío
Founded in 2000, Bodegas Virgen del Rocío is the product of a union between three cooperatives from Almonte, two of which were engaged in winemaking and the other an oil press. Its vineyards border the Doñana national park.
Known especially for its sparkling wines, the winery comprises three buildings that still house the original concrete tanks and pools, as well as new stainless steel tanks, displaying a synthesis between traditional and contemporary practices. It has recently been refurbished to include a wine cellar.
A visit to Bodegas Virgen del Rocío is only complete after enjoying the activities related to oil production as the winery is also home to an oil press. Its sweet and orange wines are also a highlight, with D.O. Condado de Huelva.
Visits: Monday to Saturday, 12 pm and 1 pm. By appointment only.
