The trail begins on the outskirts of Almonaster la Real, a town dominated by a complex of monuments featuring a mosque.
The trail leads up to the Cerro de San Cristóbal, the third-highest peak in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche Nature Reserve and where you will find one of the main lookout points. You can look out over dozens of kilometres so the climb is really worthwhile. But along the path there are numerous attractions, the traditional route it takes, the remains of industrial factories to be found along the way, the lush vegetation in the surrounding area and numerous and varied selection of fauna. You will also see old mills, cliffs and beautiful chestnut trees on your way up to the top of the hill (917 metres). Before returning, you should stop at the two lookout points where the views are fabulous.
