Old Hospital of Santa Maria Magdalena
The Old Hospital of Santa Maria Magdalena, currently the Provincial Hospital, is made up of three attached buildings: the hospital, located in the centre of the built complex, the chapel, located on the northwestern side of the building, and the hospice, located around a courtyard on the western front of the building.
This set of buildings faithfully shows the dominant styles at the times when renovation work took place: Mudejar style in the original building, Neoclassicism in the works of the doorway and courtyard, and eclecticism in the chapel and hospice.
All this makes the Old Hospital of Santa Maria Magdalena a sizable building that stands out, from an architectural point of view, because of the series of styles that summarise the evolution of Almería architecture.
