Estadio Municipal Juegos del Mediterráneo
The Juegos del Mediterráneo stadium is the main sports infrastructure in the city of Almería. Built for the 2005 Mediterranean Games, it was inaugurated with the Spanish Athletics Championship in 2004. It has a natural grass field surrounded by an athletics track, an adjoining field with an athletics tracks, and an indoor warm-up track. It has a capacity of 15,000, which can be extended up to 20,000, and also includes large green common spaces, and storage areas and offices.
The offices of the Municipal Sports Council and UD Almería are also situated here. It also has rooms for different sports activities used by clubs and schools from the city, and a gym open to the public. UD Almería plays its football matches here, and every year it is the finishing line of the Ciudad de Almería International Half Marathon, amongst other events.
