Roman Villa El Ruedo
This site dates from the 1st to the 7th century A.D. and is one of the largest on the Iberian peninsular. It is notable for its enormous structures and the wide array of elements on display, including mosaics, paintings and paving.
Two areas can be distinguished: the “Pars Urbana”, which contained the owners' residence, with various luxuries and based on the models of Greek houses; and the “Pars Rústica”, the productive area containing farm buildings.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Roman villa is the collection of sculptures found there, which can be seen today in the Museo Arqueológico.
Next to the town there is a necropolis dating from the 4th to 7th centuries A.D.
