The Living Nativity in Corrales takes place in the neighbourhood of the same name, in the town of Aljaraque in Huelva. The re-enactment takes place over an area of more than 3,000 square metres, and features participation by numerous residents of Corrales and of other neighbourhoods like La Dehesa and Bellavista.
This is one of the few nativity scenes to be staged in the open air. It is set against a natural backdrop of the different parts of the town, including the Teatro Cinema, Plaza Rutherford square, and the whole area between the Casino Minero and the theatre.
Houses, shops, market gardens, workshops, roads, flaming torches, etc. are become elements in the performance, as well as the farmers, bakers, fishermen and craftsmen who bring this recreation to life, so we all remember the significance of this special period in history.
