El Pastor del Valle

Antonio Vera has been a goat herder of Malaga’s native goat breed since he was young, having inherited his love for animal care and farming from his father. Pepi Burgos is one of the first master cheesemakers in the province of Malaga. She created Quesos El Pastor del Valle alongside Antonio as a way to make use of the milk produced by the livestock Antonio cared for. After more than 25 years of work,  Quesos El Pastor del Valle has become a benchmark in the artisanal cheesemaking industry of Malaga and the surrounding province, having also won numerous national and international awards.  

The experiences they offer include a visit to the cheese factory, where you will learn about the entire process of how they make their artisan cheeses, step by step with  the help of their team or in participatory cheese-making workshops. They also host wine tastings paired with their cheeses, where you will learn about the optimum consumption temperature, the rind, the feel, the smell and the taste of these cheeses, not to mention the whole range of fortified wines (fino, amontillado or palo cortado) that can give you incredible harmonies.
