Mesón El Ventorro
Located in front of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama natural park, only 3km away from the town of Alhama de Granada and next to the dam with the same name, Mesón El Ventorro is found in a splendid setting, in the ancient XVII century marketplace. It is part of the facilities of the El Ventorro.
Mesón El Ventorro offers various halls, where home-made regional meals are served (stews, migas (fried breadcrumbs), garlic-flavoured kid goat, etc.) as well as several types of charcoal-grilled meat. It combines local recipes with traditional Arab dishes: don't miss the delicious "olla jameña" (chickpea stew), marinated pork loin, "papas a lo pobre" (sautéed potatoes, onions and peppers) or the “plato del gañan” (“countryman’s special”). To round off the meal, we recommend the tasty "bienmesabe" (egg yolk and almond dessert) made by the Poor Clare nuns.
Given its proximity to both traditional vineyards and wineries, you can sample the wine, local cheese and cottage cheese of the natural park.
Tuesday–Sunday: 1.30 pm to 4 pm.
