Centro de Interpretación de la Cultura Andalusí
Located in Algeciras, next to the old city walls, the Andalusi Culture Visitors' Centre is designed for visitors to learn about the city's medieval history, underlining its role as the gateway to Al-Andalus and a port of great political and military significance.
The centre offers a number of highly interesting educational tools: the projection of a short engrossing video, data of great historical significance, and over twenty items and utensils from this era which were found in the medieval walls (spear points, arrows, jugs and funeral steles, etc.).
At the Andalusi Culture Visitors' Centre, visitors can admire maps of Algeciras and its surroundings from the medieval era, and a cross-section of the terrain on which the walls are built. The museum also includes the reproduction of a burial site, such as those found under the centre itself.
Monday to Friday: 10am to 2pm and 5 to 8pm. Saturdays: 10am to 2pm.
Free admission.
