Capilla del Santo Cristo de la Alameda
The small Chapel of Santo Cristo de la Alameda was built in 1776 under instructions from the priest Domingo Pérez.
Located in what was then port land, next to La Miel river and in one of the most popular streets of the time, Calle Alameda, in the city of Algeciras. It became the chapel of sailors, who went their to say their daily prayers and make donations towards its maintenance.
In 1931 it was attacked and used as a storeroom for years, left half-ruined until in February 2002 the Town Hall recovered it and turned it into the headquarters of the section of Religious Art of the city's Municipal Museum.
It cannot be visited at present.
