Algeciras celebrates the 31st Palma de Plata in honour of Moraíto Chico. Discover the essence of flamenco in Andalusia.
Flamenco association Sociedad del Cante Grande of Algeciras is proud to announce the 31st Palma de Plata Ciudad de Algeciras award, given posthumously to legendary flamenco guitarist Manuel Moreno Junquera, known as "Moraíto Chico".
The prestigious award will be presented in a moving ceremony on 18 November at the historic Florida Theatre.
This emblematic award will honour one of the great figures of flamenco guitar, born in the neighbouring town of Jerez de la Frontera. He accompanied legendary flamenco singers such as Manolo Caracol, Camarón de la Isla and Antonio Mairena. A legacy that is continued today by his son, Diego del Morao.
