In the municipality of Algarinejo, Cesna Culture Park is one kilometre away from the hamlet of Fuentes de Cesna and is made up of various elements of natural, historic and ethnological interest.

The main feature is Despoblado de Cesna or the “Old Fountains,” the old village of Fuentes de Cesna, located at the foot of a long ravine and overlooking Iznájar reservoir, in the place where the provinces of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga converge. In Cesna Culture Park we can see the remains of houses that were gradually abandoned after landslides in 1942 and 1963. It is divided into different areas or neighbourhoods (Barrio Bajo, Cuevas Altas, Cuevas Bajas, La Trocha, La Asomailla) and is built around three water sources (La Plaza, Enmedio and El Caño fountains)

This deserted place is now overgrown, with plants and trees everywhere, invading the alleyways and houses, creating an almost magical atmosphere.

As well as the "Old Fountains", inside Cesna Culture Park we also find other interesting things like the Cesna beaches area, on the shore of Iznájar reservoir. This place is suitable for bathing and recreational fishing when the water level allows it. Next to this area is Cesna Castle, an old medieval fortress which preserves some towers around the perimeter.

A little more to the east we find an amazing limestone formation, El Tajo de la Villa Vieja, a stunning ravine where different civilisations settled throughout history. Today it is one of the best places in the area to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

In addition to this, in Cesna Culture Park we find a wonderful network of paths, as well as farmhouses which are typical in this area of Andalusia.
