History
In the al-Andalus period, a great battle was fought nearby, between King Alfonso VIII and the almohades of Al Nasir.
Its origins come from the new colonization villages fostered by King Carlos III and implemented by his minister Pablo de Olavide in Sierra Morena in the 18th century.
In the beginning it was called Aldehuela. It received inhabitants from very different places, both Spanish and foreign. It was an important crossroads of paths going to the different places in Jaen.
