Casa Consistorial de Alcaudete
As of the 18th century, the Town Hall would symbolise the village and its plaza in the new urban centre. The structure of the Council of Alcaudete presents a new, cubic shape, whose homogeneity is broken by the verticality of its façade, accentuated by the small clock tower. The icon of Saint Michael the Archangel of its niche honours him as patron of Alcaudete, and its multilinear touches draw it closer to the style of Granada.
The building presents Baroque features in the movement of the elements of its façade: staircase, pilasters, lintels, balconies, windows with protruding grilles and miradors, curved pediments, niche, sculpture of Saint Michael. Therefore, this building can be catalogued as of Baroque style. Likewise, it is classic for its layout. Given all of these reasons, it is included within the type - as defined by Chueca Goitia- as a civil building of the Baroque Classic movement.
In 2004, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
