Casas de Enfrente

The Casas de Enfrente were conceived as a market, i.e., as a commercial services market.

The ensemble of the Casas de Enfrente has a main three-body horizontal structure: the first is made up of a gallery of seven arches on pillars, with the traditional arcade structure of many public squares in Spain.

In the Main Square and right in front of the Alcalá la Real Town Hall building in Jaén is a sculpture by Juan Martínez Montañés, a baroque sculptor who was born here.
