In the city of Alcalá de Guadaíra, in the old Águila water tanks, facing the patron saint's Sanctuary, the Castillo de Guadaíra Visitor Centre is a cosy place which helps visitors to understand the historical importance of the Castle.

The old tank, built at the end of the 19th century to supply the town with water, has been refurbished and adapted for its new use, with special mention for the spectacular architecture of the vaults. The Visitor Centre contains information panels which explain the relationship between the Castle and the Guadaíra River and with the city of Alcalá, showing its importance as the historical root of the district.

Next to it, there is also a panel with the chronology of the historical developments of the fortress, explanations on the types of tools used in the construction during the different phases and information on the link between Flamenco and the Castle.

There is also an interesting model of the fortress and all the related natural and urban surroundings associated with it. It is based on information from the book entitled "The Historic Memories of Padre Flores“, written in the first third of the 19th century so it enables you to see the changes that have taken place and gives you an idea of the layout of houses in the old medieval town that surrounded the Sanctuary of El Águila.
