Shrine of Nuestra Señora del Saliente
This sumptuous church was built in the last third of the 17th century on an old shrine to house the image of the Virgen del Saliente. According to Uclés and Sintas, this shrine is located where the inn is today.
The Shrine of Nuestra Señora del Saliente is so large that there is a popular saying that claims it has "as many doors and windows as days there are in a year".
The current building has three purposes: a shrine, an episcopal palace and a guesthouse. It was commissioned by Bishop Claudio Sanz y Torres, starting in 1769 as a monastery complex. Its main site is a rectangle that is 46 metres long by 54 metres wide, with a total surface area of 2,404 square metres, where we find the shrine, the porticoed cloister and the service area.
The Shrine of Nuestra Señora del Saliente has a Latin cross floor plan with a triple apse at the top and a high altar crowned by a large dome. It was designated a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1992.
