Los Caños Fountain
“Los Caños Fountain was built using funds released for this purpose by the Board of Senators and Deputies for the relief of the flooded provinces, being chair of the same Antonio Cánovas del Castillo and secretary Juan, son of this town”. This is what the plaque above the fountain reads.
Since the beginning of the 18th century, when the old fountain was built, the residents of Albánchez have used its waters for three purposes: to supply their houses, water their animals and wash their clothes. After being destroyed by several floods, it was restored in 1880, according to the plaque that you can find above it. In 1950 the current washing place was built, which was restored at the end of the 20th century.
