Carlos Gonzalez Marcos - Luthier

Skilled craftsman Carlos González Marcos began to learn how to build instruments in 1980. Since 1984 he has been exclusively building ancient instruments, first in his workshop in Paris, later on in Córdoba and finally in his current workshop in Aguadulce (Almería).

He specialises in ancient plucked string instruments, such as medieval, Renaissance and Baroque lutes; medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and romantic guitars; and Pharaonic and ancient Greco-Latin instruments. He also restores and repairs ancient string instruments and exports his work to many countries in Europe and America, Israel and Japan.

In recognition of his career, the Tourism and Commerce Council of the Regional Government of Andalusia awarded him the Master Craftsman Charter on 13 June 2012.
