La Priorita

The Hacienda La Priorita has been known for centuries for being one of the most deeply rooted to the cordobese culture. There´s a popular saying that says: “Cordoba has a cortijo on top of the mountains where Lagartijo tought Guerra his first lesson”, as this farm was shelter of the most important fierce cattle. It still keeps ruins of the original bull ring.

The current owners, third generation of a cordobese family, who acquired the farm to enjoy its hunt and peace, spent long summer seasons enjoying the mild climate of the mountains. This is the reason of the different alterations of its arquitecture thoughout the years, but always preserving the andalussian style, which at present represents a patrimonial resource of a great cultural interest.

The Hacienda is located in Oriental Sierra Morena, with an extensión of 319 hectares, in a natural enviroment of utmmost beauty, and only 10 kms from Córdoba. Its thick forests, with numerous tree species like cork oak, holm oak, quejigo and pine tree, and also retama, lentisco and cornicabra. We can also find a rich fauna full of deers, wild boars, rabits, foxes, pidgeons, partidges, eagles, etc.
